Read this if you REALLY want to change
How do you change?
Start by noticing your thoughts.
Once you are conscious of your thoughts, change the ones that don't fit with who you want to become and what you want to achieve.
Then listen to your words.
They hold a powerful magic within them. They are the wishes and promises and intentions you let loose into the world.
Choose better.
Choose the words that your best self would choose. Kind, respectful, self-respecting, purposeful words that state who you are in this world, and where you are going. Words that lift you and others.
Assess your habits.
The things you do every day. They really do make a difference. The tiny things accumulate. They accrue interest, gather momentum and push you onwards. For better or worse.
Put your daily, automatic, unconscious habits under a microscope. It will be the hardest - and most rewarding! - thing you could possibly do. Get rid of the habits that are dragging you towards a lesser self.
Observe others.
What are the healthy, happy, "together" people doing?
Look closely. Watch carefully. The good stuff is way below the surface.
What are their healthy habits? Their keys to happiness? Find out what they are. Try them on for yourself. And here's the hard part: entrench those good habits into your life too. Crowd out the bad ones.
And this brings me to my most important advice to you:
Be consistent!
The healthiest, happiest people have good habits which are so entrenched they are a part of their DNA; so automatic that it's not even thought about let alone mentioned. Exercising consistently. Working on their relationships. Being polite. Brushing. Flossing. Getting to sleep at a reasonable hour. Meditating.
How do you change? It's as simple - and as difficult - as this!
