An exercise to help you close the gap between what you actually do every day and what will boost your health and happiness!

In my work with clients, so much of my focus is closing the gap between where they are now and where they want to be.

And do you know what the biggest determinant of our health, fitness, weight and longevity is?  It's the things we do consistently, every day throughout the year. Our meals, or snacks, our sleep, how much we sit at a desk or in front of a screen and how much we move. Thousands of tiny, seemingly insignificant choices we make day in, day out. Many of them so habitually ingrained we aren't even aware of them. These are the things that matter,  not a week spent at a health retreat or a "10 day detox". It's the things we do in our everyday life when no one is watching or holding us accountable that accumulate over time and make a huge difference, for better or worse...

This exercise is specifically focussed on helping my clients change their day-to-day choices that relate to their nutrition and health.

I call it the Documentary Crew Exercise and it can be a very powerful way to help you become more conscious of the many small conscious and unconscious decisions you make every day that impact your health, and help you make better choices.

So here's how the Documentary Crew exercise goes...

Imagine you are being followed by a documentary crew all day, from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed.

They are following you because they are seeking to capture you making better choices for your nutrition, health and wellbeing.

So, how do you think you are going to act?

Will you hit the snooze button 7 times or get out for a walk or stretch?
Will you grab a greasy takeaway for lunch or something more nutritious?
Will you guzzle down soft drink or water?
Will you spend your whole workday and most of your evening sitting in front of a screen, or will you make time for healthy movement?
Will you let small irritations built up until you snap or will you build some mindful minutes into your day?
Will you walk around on autopilot or will you notice life's small, sweet moments and feel gratitude?

What would you do differently?

These are the things that can get you from where you are now to where you want to be. I call this Closing the Gap and I have written about it HERE.
