Read MorePesto is traditionally made with basil, garlic, parmesan cheese, pine nuts and olive oil. Depending on where you're from, you might add in parsley too. But I often make it without the parmesan, just add in extra nuts, and it's delicious. Honestly.... I don't think pesto needs any cheese...
Read MoreThis breakfast dish is so simple to put together - yoghurt, oats, chia and nuts, seeds and other grains of your choice. But it is the combination of the diced fresh mango and the strawberry chia jam that really elevates this to a higher level than your ordinary breakfast!

Read MoreA scale can only give us one marginally useful measure: our weight. It can’t assess our cellular or metabolic health, or energy levels, or mood or enthusiasm for life. If the number on the scale is causing you distress, or dominating your thoughts, it is probably not a healthy thing to have in your home. It is important to keep a sensible watch on your health and track any changes over time. But I strongly believe that for many women there are other ways to do this that are less injurious to their emotional wellbeing. Here are my suggestions...
Read MoreInsalata Calabrese! This salad reminds me of my Italian mother-in-law. This is my version of a salad that was on her table every Sunday during the warmer months. My husband loves it. This salad is best enjoyed with a crusty bread roll, used to soak up the delicious tomato juices.
Read MoreThis recipe is a spicy variation of my Cashew Mayo. I can always tell when I have created an awesome sauce when I just want to stop what I'm doing, stand in my kitchen and eat it by the spoonful. This recipe definitely fits that criteria! Plus, it's super-simple to make.
Read MoreI love making sorbet with frozen fruit using a high speed blender! They are every bit as delicious as store-bought sorbets, but with only a fraction of the sugar. You can check out my recipes for Pina Colada Sorbet and Pineapple Mint Sorbets HERE and HERE.
The idea for this sorbet came from one of my favourite green smoothie recipes where I blend mixed greens, celery, kiwi fruit, lime and basil. It's so refreshing on a hot day it lead me to wonder if it might work as a blender sorbet. And it does!
This sorbet isn't as sweet as the other ones in my Recipes section (unless you add in extra sweetener). But I find I quite enjoy it without any extra sweetener - its almost like a savoury sorbet. And the kiwi seeds give it a delightful crunchy texture.
But whether you sweeten it or not, it's delicious. I think the basil makes this dish, but feel free to substitute fresh mint leaves if you prefer.
6 kiwifruit, peeled, chopped into chunks and frozen in an airtight container or ziplock bag.
Juice of two limes
1 generous handful of basil leaves (no stalks) - or substitute mint leaves if you prefer
Your preferred sweetener to taste (optional - stevia, maple syrup or honey)
Place all ingredients in a Vitamix or other high speed blender
Blend until the desired sorbet consistency is achieved
You will need to use the tamper accessory to ensure all ingredients are blended uniformly.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
This sorbet needs to be served immediately. If you put it back in the freezer it will get too hard to eat easily.
